TAKE A TRIP TO MUNICH WITH BRIDGET
Born and raised in Bavaria, Bridget currently lives in London. Trained as a banker, she then switched to modelling. This gave her the amazing opportunity to turn her greatest passion - travelling - into an almost full-time job. Always up for discovering new places, she also loves to be back home, strolling around Munich in her dirndl. Discover the spots she loves the most in town by reading on her über cool Guide!
At the moment “the place- to- be”. Great restaurant and bar which could fit perfectly in a James Bond movie from the 70s. Very elegant and stylish atmosphere, with an interesting crowd. Excellent French and Italian Mediterranean cuisine. Don´t miss out on a cocktail at their bar!
SPATENHAUS AN DER OPER
I love this traditional Bavarian place as it offers a beautiful view on the Opera. Moreover, the service is great and the atmosphere very elegant. One of the best Wiener Schnitzel in town! Pro tip: sit outside on a sunny day.
NUERNBERGER BRATWURST GLOECKL AM DOM
The perfect example of a “Wirtschaft”, that is a very rustic, authentic and cozy restaurant serving traditional Bavarian food. Here, you’ll finally understand what Bavarians mean by the word “gemütlich”. Great to sit inside on a rainy, cold day. Better book a table in advance and be prepared to share your table with complete strangers.
There’s no trip to Munich without passing by at Brenner, my absolute favorite for lunch/brunch. I love the big grill in the middle of the restaurant where they prepare fresh food in front of customers. The menu is a perfect mix of seasonal dishes and healthy food choices… so vegetarians and vegans are going to love it too! Great vibe! P.s. there’s also a nice area outside for sunny days.
CHINA MOON ROOF TERRACE
The best place to enjoy a 360 degree view over Munich. On top of the Mandarin Oriental, it offers a spectacular view and amazing drinks. You can also book a table for dinner.
Next to the restaurant Theresa Grill (which serves excellent meat), you will find this place, great for a fun night out. Elegant interiors, warm atmosphere and a nice mixed crowd. Enjoy a drink at their very well designed retro-style bar!
A great place for a cappuccino in the morning, for a quick lunch or for an Aperol Spritz after work. Located in the fancy area of Munich, it’s always quite busy...If you find a free table outside, run!
People say they serve the best coffee in town. When you walk in, you feel like you’ve entered a Milanese bar. It’s nice to go there for lunch (the food is Italian of course) but especially for the aperitivo. When I miss Italy, this is the place I go to.
The oldest and surely the most famous club in Munich. With a cool lounge area outside, it’s perfect on a long summer night. I love to be able to have one of the best pizzas in town, while dancing on the dance floor!
At the moment, probably the trendiest club in town. It’s divided into two areas: on the ground floor you will find the Heart bar & restaurant, which turns into a club later on; upstairs the Heart house, a members’ club only with restaurant, bar and club. Very fancy crowd.
My favourite vintage store in town. If you’re looking for a special vintage dirndl, this is the place to go to.
My absolute favorite because of its central position (plus, it’s directly in front of my beloved coffee bar, Bar Centrale). It´s a small boutique hotel with an excellent wine bar to go to in the evening. It always feels like staying at home.
The most historical hotel in Munich. It has a fantastic pool on the last floor, with a roof that opens up in the summer. I also love the lounge bar Blue Spa right next to it. Great place to hang out and enjoy an amazing view over the town’s roofs.
