THE BEST BARS “À COCKTAIL”
Often hidden behind anonymous doors and facades, you could easily walk by some of the coolest Parisian cocktail spots without even knowing. If you’re in the mood for a mysteriously crafted cocktail but you’re not sure where to go, we’ve got you covered. Here’s a recommended selection to pick from, spotted by DATS on the World’s Best Bars website.
EXPERIMENTAL COCKTAIL CLUB
This stylish haunt “certainly strikes the right notes aesthetically, exuding a minimalist neo-baroque vibe with its black Chesterfields and zinc bar. As the name suggests, original cocktails are the order of the day. These are unswervingly inventive and refreshingly affordable given the setting.” (WORLD’S BEST BARS)
“A true hidden gem, Candelaria, a popular bar, offers some of the best Mexican top cocktails and food in Paris.” (WORLD’S BEST BARS)
PRESCRIPTION COCKTAIL CLUB
Behind this chic bar, there’s the team behind the Experimental Cocktail Club. “With the witty Magritte light fitting and the speakeasy vibe, Prescription is definitely quirky yet stylish with it. The top cocktail list gives the place its heart beat, its reason for being.”(WORLD’S BEST BARS)
LITTLE RED DOOR
“From the striking miniature red door to the exposed brickwork and soft low light, this is a bar that would not be out of place in New York. The drinks list is full of tempting and inventive things but it's always worth chatting to the dapper, cap-wearing bar tenders about your likes and dislikes, and seeing where they steer you.” (WORLD’S BEST BARS)
“An unmarked door leads you into a hip, intimate and faintly Lynchian cocktail bar housed in an 18th century stone cellar. The cocktails employ inventive flavours, subtle spicing and fresh ingredients.” (WORLD’S BEST BARS)
Hiding in a side street of Le Marais, this bar surprises with long rooms, dimmed lights and huge mirrors. It offers just an 11 entries menu, but ingredients are mostly homemade and mysterious.
LE MARY CELESTE
From the same team behind Candelaria and Le Glass, this oyster bar is the hip destination in Le Marais, even though it’s not pretentious or that attractive at first sight. Their cocktail list is definitely inventive and they also offer a selection of natural wines and Brooklyn brewery beers.
A unique Moroccan-style bazaar ambience and alternative live Dj are on point in this colourful and creative bar, with North American influenced cocktails. In case you don’t fancy alcohol, their mint tea is obviously very good.
“This funky neo-tiki bar in SoPi (that's South Pigalle) was formerly a hostess bar, which gives its name, shall we say, an extra little frisson. Owned by the team behind the Russian-themed Kremlin, this place is retro heaven (…). Rum is the order of the day here, with over 50 to choose from and a range of prices to fit every pocket.” (WORLD’S BEST BARS)
“Entering through the doors of an unassuming laundromat may not be the start of too many nights out in Paris, but for those that take the plunge at Lavomatic, an experience like nothing else in the City of Light awaits.” Creative cocktails in a pop-art inspired ambience. (WORLD’S BEST BARS)
With its stylish interiors, it’s one of the hippest cocktail bars in the city. “There’s also a little terrace area outside, with a sleek Scandi vibe. Cocktails are similarly impressive, complex and vibrant.” (WORLD’S BEST BARS)
“The top bar at Hotel Costes is a den of opulence, dedicated to detail, intimacy and the expectations of the frighteningly wealthy.” (WORLD’S BEST BARS)
