Visionary. Eclectic. Original. We’re talking about the talented interior designer Marsica Fossati. Based in Milan, she’s the creative mind behind the hip interiors of the Peruvian restaurant Pacifico. With Design week around the corner, Marsica shares her eclectic guide to Milan.
Pacifico A restaurant with an exotic and international feel. The original and sophisticated interiors - from the wallpaper with waves to the blue hues and dim lighting - remind you of the sea. Their Peruvian food is excellent and they make the best “pisco souer”!
Pasticceria Marchesi The elegant interiors are perfectly in line with Prada’s style. The pastel-coloured velvet décor blends in with the super colourful pastries. Enjoy them with a view over the stunning Galleria Vittorio Emanuele! Yuuummy!
Giacomo Bistrot I love this place because of its Parisian feel. It takes me back to that magical time when cigars, whiskey and long evening gowns were worn. The food is traditional and of exceptionally high quality.
Trattoria Arlati The bizarre objects, placed here and there, give this eclectic restaurant a strong poetic and vintage feel. They serve up excellent local food.
Osteria del Castello A dreamy location in a small medieval borough on the outskirts of Milan, perfect for those Sunday day-trips out of town! The Tavern has a unique charm with its smoking chimneys and live music. The cuisine is inspired by the regional traditional dishes of Lombardy, Piedmont and Tuscany. There’s not a vast vegetarian selection but it’s worth the trip for the location alone!
MAM - Milano Amore Mio I love the industrial atmosphere, coloured walls and board games! This small, welcoming restaurant is the perfect place to eat excellent vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Ceresio 7 A welcoming interior with an eclectic twist. The two rooftop swimming pools make up the perfect setting for stunning views over the city’s skyline. Their drinks are a must.
La Bodeguita del Medio A Cuban bar to forget about Milan for a couple of hours. Their exotic music, excellent traditional drinks and palm trees will take you straight to Havana!
The Yard I love their attention to detail and their British-style interiors. Have an amazing drink on their chesterfield sofas surrounded by books and leather trunks. The Moscow Mule is my favourite!
1930 A speak easy close to the city’s historical centre. Its location should have been kept secret but the word has spread fast! The retro feel and soothing music in the background make up the perfect ambiance to sip on one of their sophisticated drinks.
Carlo e Camilla in Segheria A magical place in a restored sawmill. The location is charming and their drinks are incredible!
Mag Cafe’ Dimmed lighting, loads of books and a perfect mix between sofas and tables. Perfect all year round, this place is warm in the winter and fresh in the summer. Their drinks are spectacular!
Volt One of Milan’s coolest clubs! Come here on a Friday for the best parties.
Armani Privè Located in Armani’s flagship store, this club hosts the city’s most exclusive parties. If you manage to get in, Thursday nights are by far the best!
